REVIEW --> Maybelline Long Extreme Stiletto Mascara

So my initial purchases from the Maybelline counter last December 2011 included  the Maybelline Long Extreme Stiletto Mascara. At first I was hesitant because I still have my Avon Supercurlacious Mascara but I have always been a fan of Maybelline mascaras and this sale was an opportunity that I can't ignore! So to cut the long mind- battling short, I did buy it! haha. Maybelline mascaras are the B-O-M-B. They never fail to deliver no matter what formula I try, plus they are so affordable, that is why I got excited when a Maybelline counter opened here in our place. The very first thing I grabbed out of their stall was the Maybelline Long Extreme Stiletto Mascara (what is it with maybelline and long names? hehe). The original price was P350 but i got it for P250 coz of the 30% sale. great buy isn't it?

According to the Maybelline website:

Finally, the no.1 lengthening mascara in the USA has landed on Philippine shores! The new LONG EXTREME STILETTO Ultimate Length Mascara does for your lashes what stilettos do for your legs, instantly transforming them to their longest, most glamorous, and most seductive look ever! The innovative packaging of Long Extreme Stiletto is super chic, reminiscent of a sleek pair of designer heels, while its cutting-edge formula stretches lashes to the limits, giving you the longest lashes you’ve ever wanted. So get ready to bat those sinfully sexy lashes for a purse-friendly price of P349!
I'd Say...

         PROS:

    • Packaging:
The packaging is really so darn cute, chic and sexy! Need I say more? haha. My only teeny weeny gripe about the packaging is the handle..I just find it a bit too big for my liking but blah! who cares haha XD
    • Lengthening
Like what I've said earlier, Maybelline mascaras do deliver. And this mascara was no exception. In one coat, you can already see results, in two coats, they're perfect! :D I find that this formula suits Asian lashes(which are usually short and stick straight) and unlike other mascaras that performs better   when it's already a drier formula, this mascara is love from start til end.
    • Waterproof
Whenever I buy mascara, I always make sure it is waterproof or at least water resistant because I live in a humid area, plus, it keeps my lashes curled all day long :) But since this is a waterproof mascara, you have to use a makeup remover to remove it or else it'd stay and you'll wake up the next morning looking like a raccoon. In my case, I use my Lancome Bi-facil Eye Makeup Remover, which makes removing it an ease. But Maybelline also has their own makeup remover which I am yet to try ;)
    • Price
For P250-350, I can't argue. It is hands down the best drugstore mascara brand :)

For the Cons, I cant really think of any. Hmmm..smells pretty much the same like other mascaras. Hmm..it did say it makes lashes shinier..didn't really notice that haha. But like what I usually say, who cares! Haha. If it were true it would've been just a plus.

Here is a before and after photo of my eyes(sorry for the crappy editing..gotta work on that :P )

As you can see, it really does wonders for my lashes!

If you want a mascara that is worth your money, I totally recommend Maybelline mascaras. By the way, I'm not sponsoring Maybelline, I'm just really a fan of their mascaras :P Hope this review was helpful :)
See y'all lovely people!

REVIEW --> Maybelline Clear Smooth All in One Shine Free Cake Powder

Last December 2011, Robinsons Dept. Store opened here in our place and has a Maybelline counter that offered a 20-30% discount upon opening..UPON OPENING! Haha, talking about perfect timing. I went gaga since Maybelline is one of my favorite makeup line. I was lemming for a handful of products but I made it a point to tame myself since i didn't want to go broke before Christmas arrives. So even though Robinsons had a crappy service during that time, not to mention the insanely humid environment coz their AC is not yet functional, I decided to pick up products that I felt would be a great buy, one of which is the Maybelline Clear Smooth All in One Shine Free Cake Powder in Honey(whew! that was long) for P119(20% discount). I got the refill one since it saves a lot of space in my kit and I want to test the product first. So moving on with the review..

Claims:
  • All Day Shine Control
              I'd say..

I have an oily skin and upon application it did mattify my face, but I wouldn't say this powder controls my oiliness "all day" but it does keep my oilies at bay a bit longer compared to other powders. It took about 4 hours before I noticed that I had to retouch or blot away my T-zone area.
  • UV Protection
It has SPF 25 so it basically provides protection to your skin from the harmful rays of the sun.
  • Fairer Skin
I've been using it for 2 weeks, but I haven't really noticed any difference with my skin color. Maybe if you use it continuously for a longer time? But that I cannot do for a reason i will explain below :P
  • Conceals
The no. 1 thing I love about this product is the coverage! Awesome awesome coverage! I find that it offers full coverage when you use the product wet and a medium coverage when used dry.
  • Long Wear
In my opinion it wears longer when you use it wet since like what I've mentioned earlier, it offers full coverage compared to when you use it dry, you have to retouch your face for about 2-3 times throughout the day.
  • Smoothes & Evens
Yes, because of the full coverage...

  • Non Comedogenic & Gentle on Skin

If the coverage is the best thing about this foundation, then this part I would have to say is the worst and the reason why I cannot use this product always. Sadly, it breaks me out :(

P.S. This product cracks easily so be careful if you're going to put it in your bag ;) And i guess its a con too..

So basically this product is a good buy if it didn't break me out..Actually..all Maybelline powders break me out :( too bad..But who knows..what didn't work for me might work for others so try at your own risk ;) Besides, the refill is only P150(reg. price), so it wouldn't hurt your wallet that much hehe.

Good day, and see you all beautiful people on my next post!!

Welcome to Me!

I've been thinking and planning to make a blog dedicated to my love for makeup for such a long time already and I'm happy that I've finally put my words into actions. Finally, susmaryosep! Starting from now on (December 31, 2011- before the New Year starts!), I'll be recording all my makeup experiences in this blog and share it to the world, and hopefully gain as much knowledge from fellow bloggers and makeup gurus out there. I'm not saying I'm a makeup expert but we all have one thing in common, and that is our love and passion for makeup. So hopefully this adventure or pwede na ring New Year's resolution would be as exciting and successful as I hope it would be :) Cheers and a Happy New Year to all! :)
